Black and grey realism in Phoenix, Arizona
LEG SLEEVETATTOOS
Thigh, knee and calf work by Taylor Tharp, designed as one piece and built over full-day sessions.
Thigh to ankle, one design
A leg sleeve covers the thigh, knee and calf, or part of that run. Taylor plans it like an arm sleeve: one cohesive design that reads clearly and ages well.
Below are leg sleeves still in progress and finished calf pieces. You will see samurai and hannya masks, reapers, skulls, a weeping statue and a lamb crushing a snake.
How many sessions a leg sleeve takes depends on its size and detail. Taylor gives you an estimate once you talk through the idea.
Every piece is black and grey realism, tattooed by Taylor at Monarch Studios in Phoenix.

How big work is priced
By the piece
Taylor charges by the piece, not by the hour. Once you talk through your idea, he gives you an estimate and the number of sessions he expects it to take.
Full-day sessions
A full day runs 7 to 9 hours and is $3,500. When you book several sessions together, each day is $2,500.
Your pace
Book the days back to back or spread them out. Leaving at least one day between sessions makes the pain and healing easier to handle.
Deposit
Each appointment is held with its own $500 deposit. It is non-refundable and goes toward your tattoo.
These numbers are estimates from Taylor's experience. The real price depends on the piece, its size, placement and detail. Nothing is set until you sit down with him and go through exactly what you want.
COMMONQUESTIONS
It depends on the size, design and detail. Taylor gives you an estimate after you talk through the idea. For comparison, a full arm sleeve usually takes about seven full days.
Taylor prices by the piece and sets it after your consultation. For a frame of reference, a full day is $3,500, or $2,500 per day when you book several sessions together.
Yes. Book the days back to back or spread them out, and leave at least one day between sessions if you can. If you are flying in, Taylor plans the days around your trip.
Send Taylor your idea, where it goes, a rough size and any photos you like. He checks that it fits his style and gives you a plan, a session count and a price. Each day is then held with a $500 deposit that goes toward the tattoo.
