Black and grey realism in Phoenix, Arizona

SLEEVETATTOOS

Full and half sleeves by Taylor Tharp, designed as one piece and built over full-day sessions.

One piece from shoulder to wrist

Taylor puts larger, cohesive projects first, and a sleeve is the clearest example. The goal is one design that stays readable and ages well, not a set of separate pieces.

A full sleeve usually takes about seven full-day sessions, give or take. Some take fewer and some take more, depending on the size, the design and how complex it is. A half sleeve covers the upper arm or the forearm.

Below you will see Christ and the Madonna, classical statues, warriors, tigers and wolves, skulls and reapers.

Every piece is black and grey realism, tattooed by Taylor at Monarch Studios in Phoenix.

How big work is priced

By the piece

Taylor charges by the piece, not by the hour. Once you talk through your idea, he gives you an estimate and the number of sessions he expects it to take.

Full-day sessions

A full day runs 7 to 9 hours and is $3,500. When you book several sessions together, each day is $2,500.

Your pace

Book the days back to back or spread them out. Leaving at least one day between sessions makes the pain and healing easier to handle.

Deposit

Each appointment is held with its own $500 deposit. It is non-refundable and goes toward your tattoo.

These numbers are estimates from Taylor's experience. The real price depends on the piece, its size, placement and detail. Nothing is set until you sit down with him and go through exactly what you want.

Yes. Book the days back to back or spread them out, and leave at least one day between sessions if you can. If you are flying in, Taylor plans the days around your trip.

Send Taylor your idea, where it goes, a rough size and any photos you like. He checks that it fits his style and gives you a plan, a session count and a price. Each day is then held with a $500 deposit that goes toward the tattoo.
